Today we had an intriguing talk by Armando Bundiz, he presented a tool named Airgeddon which is a multi-Bash network auditor capable of Wi-Fi jamming. The capability of the tool allows to target and disconnect devices from a wireless network, all without needing to join it. When done correctly, it will deny service to a wireless network for up to several blocks.
The attack shows the importance of securing the router by:
Changing the generic name of router
Changing the default password
Configuring additional router settings to mitigate attacks
It was crucial for everyone to know that this attack is illegal and forms of liability had to be signed before the presentation. Thanks to the presentation students learned the risks and how to prevent this attack.
